Data collected automatically

When you browse this site, some technical information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies:

  • Google Fonts — this site loads typefaces from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com). Loading these fonts sends your device's IP address to Google. We don't control what Google does with this; you can read Google's own privacy policy for details.
  • Google Analytics — we use this to understand how visitors interact with our site (e.g., pages visited, time on site, and general geographic location). This relies on non-essential cookies.
  • Hosting logs — our hosting provider (Hostinger) may automatically log standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and access times, as most web servers do.

Third-party links

This website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins, or applications (such as client portfolios or external tools). Clicking on those links may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements.

3. How we use your data

  • To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form or modal
  • To provide quotes, proposals, and project updates if you engage us for work
  • To send newsletter emails, only if you've signed up, and only until you unsubscribe
  • To understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it
  • To meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations

4. How we protect your data

We take security seriously and have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. This includes using secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS) across our website, storing data on secure servers, and restricting access to personal information to authorised personnel only.

5. Our legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent — for newsletter emails and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time
  • Legitimate interests — for responding to enquiries and improving our website, in a way that doesn't override your rights
  • Contract — for data needed to deliver a project once you've engaged us
  • Legal obligation — for data we must keep for tax, accounting, or other legal purposes

6. Payments

We use Stripe as our payment processor. Selvaro Creative does not store your card details directly. When you make a payment, your financial information is processed and stored securely by Stripe, in accordance with their own strict privacy and security policies.

7. Who we share data with

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the trusted third parties that help us run this business:

  • Hostinger — our web hosting provider
  • Google — for web fonts and analytics (see Section 2)
  • Form Processors — we use trusted third-party services to securely process our contact form submissions
  • Stripe — for securely processing payments
  • Professional advisors (e.g. accountants) where necessary, and law enforcement or regulators if we're legally required to

We do not transfer your data outside the UK/EEA in a way that isn't already covered by these providers' own standard safeguards (e.g. Google and Stripe's standard contractual clauses for international transfers).

8. How long we keep your data

  • Enquiry/contact form submissions: kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond and follow up, and no longer than 24 months if no project goes ahead
  • Client project data: kept for the duration of the engagement plus any period required by law (e.g. UK tax records must generally be kept for 6 years)
  • Newsletter emails: kept until you unsubscribe

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Ask us what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain kinds of processing
  • Request data portability (asking us to transfer your data to another organisation, or give it to you in a machine-readable format)
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (e.g. the newsletter or analytics cookies)
  • Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we've mishandled your data

Note: We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at creative@selvaro.co.uk.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies to ensure our website functions correctly. We also use non-essential cookies via Google Analytics to help us understand how our site is used. Under UK law, these analytics cookies will only be loaded if you provide explicit consent through our cookie banner when you first visit the site. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

11. Children's privacy

This website and our services are intended for businesses and individuals aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as our services or the tools we use change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
